Cosmos, genus: cosmea
Spanish priests grew cosmos flowers in their mission gardens in Mexico. The evenly placed petals led them to christen the flower cosmos, Greek for harmony or order. This photograph was taken after a morning rain in British Columbia. If you look close enough, you will see a bug, who has take refuge in the center of the flower.
