Pansy, viola wittrockiana
In the 19th century in England, the pansy was as famous as the rose
is for us
today. Many horticulturalists would hold "pansy shows" to determine
the most perfect variety. I was fascinated by this particular pansy, because
the abstract shapes slowly lead the eye to its center. I photographed it in my
garden in Cedar Falls.
